Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2008

2008 vintage. Age is not shown, can last another decade. Brilliant color, nose intensity mild but with finesse. Aromas from the barrel are more noticed than fruit. Elegant palate. — 2 years ago

Harlan Estate

Napa Valley Proprietary Red Blend 2017

Vibrant, carefree nose of wild blueberries, black raspberries, crushed black currants and boysenberries with lovely floral nuances of candied violets and rose hips plus touches of cedar and pencil shavings. Medium-bodied, this incredibly light on its feet, with amazing intensity and energy, framed by very finely grained tannins and bold freshness, finishing very long and mineral-laced. — 2 years ago

Corison

St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

N: Plums and tobacco, some cedar.Liquorice, deep.
P: some big cherries, but black, nice balance of wood and acidity. Very nicely crafted. Some dirt, as it airs, you almost get pomegranates. It’s lovely and very easy to drink.

Château Troplong Mondot

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Dark ruby in color. Black fruit and floral to the nose. Ripe blackberry and cherry with creamy coffee, oak and earthy note on the palate . Moderate and silky tannins. Long smooth finish to end an enjoyable experience. A bit too young at the moment to compare with other ripe Bordeaux reds. Bet it mature nicely with age. — 2 years ago

Gaja

Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Deep garnet; open perfumed nose with cherry and spice on top; palate is ripe enough to suggest a dark fruit compote with a note of licorice, but with plenty of moderating acidity and round tannin. — 2 years ago

Upscale party wine. Brings the jocks, punks, geeks, and goth kids all to the table.

Super light, fruity, mineral. Goes down like water, but full of depth of flavor. Certified banger.
