Beautiful wine, and a must have for summer. The noise is reminiscent of farmer’s market strawberries: a mixture of pleasant, subtle sweetness and herbal accents. Clean and refreshing with strawberry and melon notes, the imagination can’t help but be drawn to images of rustic landscapes along the Mediterranean. — 5 years ago
Blown away.
Delightful herbal aromatics , and when paired with your favorite tonic, a kafir lime kind of thing cones out and really graces the tongue.
Hard to find outside of España. If you do, grab a few! A cult gin from Mahon in Menorca, Xoriguer is one of the only gins in the world (alongside Plymouth) to have a geographical indication, Gin de Menorca. Gin has been made on Menorca since the 18th century British occupation and Xoriguer commands a devoted following of happy travellers. Unusually, Xoriguer is made in wood-fired pot stills from distilled wine (eau-de-vie) rather than the more usual grain-based distillate, and is rested in oak barrels before bottling. — 5 years ago
There is nothing like German Riesling! Georg Breuer is one of my favorite producers from the Rheingau region. Wonderful flavors of lemon zest, star fruit, tart pineapple. Crisp and dry Riesling. #summerofriesling #rheingau #deutscherwein #germanwine #germanwinesociety — 5 years ago
Recall that La Boutanche is a project designed to bring good, low intervention wine to the people for around $20. Different producers so a variance in quality too. So it goes.
The ones from Le Sot de L’Ange (bulldog label) are the best of La Boutanche I’ve tried and “Melon” is a serious step above. It’s creamy and rich, voluptuous, assumed from extended lees contact. It has white creamed corn, Granny Smith Apple, bitter almond, chamomile, white flowers, and fennel. — 5 years ago

Porto is so out of fashion. I have no idea why since a number of highly rated “dry” wines carry substantial residual sweetness. Fashion is fashion. Hipsters will find this soon enough. 1977 was a time with Port if not in its heyday it was certainly much more highly regarded. This is just sensational. A fortified wine of great depth and dimension. — 5 years ago
