Louis Roederer

et Philippe Starck Brut Nature Champagne Rose Blend 2012

Absolutely delicious. No doubt Brut Nature the acidity is not subtle but it is beautifully balanced lemon and strawberry, very pleasurable and pure. Pinot driven no off notes as is the roederer style. — 3 years ago

Château Malescot St. Exupéry

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Just drinking lovely right now. Classic Margaux perfume - black fruits and graphite. Chewy tannins and a long finish. Nothing to argue with here. 2005 BDX vintage is in a really nice spot right now. — 3 years ago

Nice Durand corkscrew!

Bollinger

Special Cuvée Brut Champagne Blend

Consistent excellence. Pure gold in the glass with a creamy mousse and a ton of tiny, fine bubbles. On the intoxicating nose you’ll find some smoke, apple cider, and orange peel. Tasty honey and apricots make their presence known here. Just hints of the yeast and toasted nuts for now but will be more present as time goes on. Oak, dark fruit, and some really lively violets top this off.

So much richer and more voluptuous than most similar offerings, Bollinger always stands out from the pack. Quite the vivacious champagne, this is full of life and full of power. Muscular in nature but still has more than enough finesse with a velvety mouthfeel. The complexity and depth is definitely a step above, due to the amount of reserve wines used in the blend.

The palate pleases with chalk, apple pie, and lemon rind. More orange and the thought of warm biscuits to go with baking spices and pears. Long finish featuring spice and cream. How many other entry level bottles from the other big champagne houses can compare? Excellent champagne, a beautiful journey.

Ceretto

Bricco Rocche Barolo Nebbiolo 1986

Great complexity. Still on the balance. Only tertiary notes from goudron to leather via some liquorice and truffle. Beautiful and unique elegance. Drink now. I wouldn’t wait much longer for this vintage, described by many as the hardest of the decade in the Langhe. — 3 years ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Dark red purple. Sweet black fruits, smokey earthy, nutty-espresso cocoa scents lingering with perfumes and florals makes this wine pleasant on the nose. Taste— a luscious soft -silky flavor of sweet blackberry fruit cover the entire pallet. Delights of cherry vanilla notes cedar, cassis and graphite follow with a long finish. A beautiful wine to celebrate tonight! — 3 years ago
