I don't have a lot of experience with Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, but I have had a few vintages of the OG Pepe. This reminds me of those Pepe wines, with a cleaner, more focused palate that is fresher on the fruit and more approachable young. Loads of juicy dark red cherry, cassis, tobacco, and licorice envelop the nose and the palate. The tannin are young, fine but quite firm. Another year or two for those to mellow and integrate, but man its pretty good right now. It's good to see more producers from Abruzzo stepping up their game! #prologo#montepulciano#deFermo — 8 years ago
