I love this wine. So much ground pepper and chimney smoke on the nose. It’s like walking around on a rainy or snowy winter day and smelling the sweet perfume of your neighbors chimney. I almost totally dislike the white Listan Blanco Benje. I find that tired and lacking acidity and just tired. I prefer this wine to the more expensive Migan. Migan had more reduction and ethyl acetate on the nose and okay okay it’s more Pinot Noiresque but I don’t need a wine from the Canary Islands to be like a Pinot Noir. #listan #listannegro #canaryislands #spain — 4 years ago
#listannegro #tenerife #suertedemarques #candio #spanishwines Hazy (not filtered) medium+ garnet, pronounced intensity aromas musk, sweat, geranium, resin and chimney ash along with bright fresh cherries and red currant or cranberry jam. Dry, medium+ acidity, medium smooth tannins and medium + alcohol. Medium+ body pronounced intensity flavors of cranberry, cedar chest, ash and cider. The finish is medium + and the wine can easily age for the next 3-5 years. Very good quality. Perhaps overpriced. Points for being original. Much better on the palate than in the nose. — 8 years ago
Crunchy indeed. Sort of a sour grapes stemmy vibe. It’s cool and if I saw it on a wine list I would order it in a heartbeat. Especially cool for pairing with pickled peppery dishes. More bang for your buck than many Burgundy or Côte Rotie wines. #tenerife #listan #listannegro #canary — 4 years ago
