The Philippe Gonet Champagne Rosé Brut is a complex and earthy blend of 90% Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger and 10% Pinot Noir sourced from Vertus on the Côte des Blancs. Dark salmon with shimmering copper reflexes, the nose is expressive and slightly autolytic. Cherry skins, pomegranate, cardamom, candied orange peel and the a distant, faint note of dry earth. One the palate, a fine and lovely bead plunges through layers of red berries, cream, light toast and dried honey, and ends with a slightly spicy, mineral-driven flourish.
