All bass, no treble. Lacking high-toned and effusive aromatics but compensating in it’s depth and richness. Silkier tannins for Monforte, elegant and present. Very savory and dark, weighty. Could argue that it needs more time to come together but that dark fruit is appealing now. Played well is mushroom braised short ribs and polenta.

Started off quite shy. Still opening, in decanter, 2hrs later. Not crazy about the tinge of brett. Still, it has a bad case of blah. Stay tuned.

Digging it on a rainy humid Monday evening. Still holding on nicely. Raspberry that has had its edges smoothed out. Black licorice. Very nice

I agree with earlier note: tobacco and tar come through but not too expressive. I'll give the next bottle another year and an hour or two to open up.

This starts out with higher toned notes, textural as much as fruit flavors it slowly builds more depth with air. The power grows like a fanfare until all parts are in harmony. Structure & fruit are excellent counterpoints. Delicious & approachable Barolo. #kermitlynch

Surprisingly bright red fruits with nice humble tanning for Barolo. Great 2009 vintage, could enjoy now or age for a long time.
