Alvaro Palacios
Camins del Priorat Grenache Blend
Found. ‘13, Dark inky purple with dark fruit, floral and spice aromas for this inexpensive Priorat, a 5 grape blend sourced from a number of vineyards. Oak aged for 6 months the palate shows typical Priorat flavors with juicy ripe black fruits, heavy sweet spice and fine grained tannins. Medium finish list fruit luster, drink now if you have one!

Jun 2nd, 2020Obviously European on the nose. I could pick this as French in a blind tasting and be wrong. Medium bodied and ready to drink - soft resolved tannins. Savoury with a little barnyard - just the right amount. Punching way above its price of $45. Very good value for a Priorat from Alvaro Palacios. Loved this wine with an aged T Bone and will look for more of it.

Jan 9th, 2020Obviously from a warm climate. I would have said a GSM from South Australia - but No, it is a Red Blend from Priorat, Spain. A blend of 50% Carignan (known as Mazuelo in Spain); 40% Garnacha; 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Syrah. A lovely warmth and generosity to this Wine accented by red berry flavours and oak Spice. Medium to full bodied. Easy to drink and good QPR.

Like a pretty, medium-to-full weight Napa Cabernet, but with a compelling rain-on-pavement minerality. Bright and floral (even on the label), an apt way to will springtime into being. NYC winter, watch your back.

Mar 20th, 2015Still feeling those floral vibes, though this is more carnivorous than photosynthesis alone.

Feb 16th, 2015Amazing value. Earth, dark fruit, great tannin. Love this and the price is right.

Feb 7th, 2015Not overly complicated but a nice well rounded drinker that paired well with meat.
