Aug 22nd, 2021Rose with an orange tint in color. Interestingly, the outer rim is nearly clear. Vanilla, coconut, dill, and spice on the nose, almost more of a light cab, but some cherry is present. More American oak notes on the palate along with cedar, dark cherry, rhubarb, cinnamon, clove, and even some cocoa. High alcohol mouthfeel, medium tannins, and high acid. The finish is the real high point. A very different pinot that is not quite in balance. I like it, but then I like oak. If the idea of an oaky pinot turns you off, then avoid this one.
