Whilst preparing the marinade for Brasato al Barolo (from deer) I took one glass 😉.....
Dark red brown with age coming on the edge. Not that outspoken in the nose. Hints of chocolate and roses. Some red berries. In the mouth a little two sided. Smooth at first but after a joyfull balanced moment the tanins hit you hard. I will open up the Cannubi to pair with the food.

Dec 22nd, 2017Virna I apologize for doubting you and whoring after the bigger names in Barolo for the past few years. One of the best values in Barolo. Half bottles of 2006 Virna Borgogno Barolo for a great price. A new favorite. Great balance of earth and fruit. A touch modern with prominent Barrique presence, however the structure is perfectly balanced.
