Barolo Nebbiolo 2020

Pale reddish in color with light intensity.

Light red fruits on the nose, and medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing raspberries, cherries, spices, peppercorn, light wood, coffee, herbs and light vegetables.

Tangy finish with round tannins and tangy pomegranates.

This 5 year old Barolo is young and elegant. Showing nice balance with good structure.

Has enough acidity to last it for a while. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 7 years.

Easy drinking and better with food.

100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged for 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

Sounds really good

Lodovico Borgogno

Borgognot Barolo Nebbiolo

Excellent value for an under $30 entry level Barolo via WTSO. Approachable on opening but better with an hour of slow ox. Held up well day 2. Medium bodied. Dark fruit/spice on nose. Well balanced with juicy acidity and soft tannins. More fruity than earthy with dark cherry strawberry tobacco leather and topsoil. Nutmeg and clove spice. Soft lingering finish where tannins become dominant. Overall a complex experience- but probably better to drink while it’s young. — 3 months ago

Cannubi Boschis Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

Light ruby color with a noticeable brick rim. Aromas and flavors of dried cherries and strawberries, dried rose petals, asphalt, strong coffee, orange zest, vanilla and leather. Very spicy and earthy on the medium-plus finish. Tannins have mellowed to a velvety softness. Relatively light bodied. May have just passed its peak. Clearly shows how aging can affect a wine. — 6 months ago

Serious step forward compared to my previous bottle but something is telling that it still needs a couple of years in the cellar — 2 months ago

Depeche Mode is champagne music! But I can probably accommodate. And Wilco goes with everything 😎

Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

Opened too young; lovely and exceptionally made wine. Brickish red/brown. I let decant for a loooong time. Lots of cranberry and red fruit, some herbs, clay, faint cedar and tobacco. The acidity was med-high, but the tannins really softened out with aeration. I'd say this is still developing flavors and will be 95+ in a decade. — 5 months ago

Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo 2015

Ruby/ brick in color with medium intensity.

Beautiful nose with blue and red fruits, caramel, light oak, cooked cherries, red currants and tobacco leaf.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak, earth, chocolates, tobacco, espresso and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 10 year old Barolo is still fresh and vibrant. Delicious and easy drinking with a great mouthfeel. Complex and well balanced. Tangy and interesting.

Already drinking beautifully, and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years and beyond.

Gorgeous, elegant and robust. A great sipping wine to share with friends and talk about.

Liste Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

Ruby/ brick in color with medium intensity.

Beautiful nose of flowers, raspberries, earth, light herbs, light wood and peppercorn.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with mild complexity and a harsh mouthfeel.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This young Single Vineyard Barolo feels big and robust, but looks lighter than it feels. Very tasty though.

The 2019 Barolo vintage is less approachable now, but it's only going to get better from this point.

Needs a few years to mature in the bottle, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. A good food wine right now.
