Nervi Gattinara Riserva 1982. Wow, what a wine! Still had some grip after more than 40 years. Lots of leather and cigar box, but also some red fruit. Cork was in remarkably good shape and the neck fill was pretty high, so we speculated that it might have been filled up and recorked before release. Great wine, showing what was there before the Conternos ever got involved.
