Bedrock Wine Co.
Old Vine Zinfandel
California, USA

I’ve waxed (eloquent? Well, at least waxed!! 🤔) about the virtues and quality of this excellent 2020 Zinfandel multiple times, but this wine is still punching well above its weight (the so-called “leftovers” that didn’t make the single vineyard cut), long finish, lovely!! Going to the Bedrock pickup party in Sonoma tomorrow to get some of the 2024s I’ve already purchased, so this is a great warmup!!

Black raspberry, blackberry and spicy aromas and flavors, crisp, fresh and ripe, lovely balance and length, I’ve rapidly become a big fan of Bedrock’s Zins!!

Dark, moderately rich, brambly blackberry fruit mostly, very fresh and lively on palate, avoids the jammy, overripe notes that mar some Zins, seems quite youthful and capable of further development, my first Zin from Morgan T-P, very impressed!! (Drank MANY of his father’s Zins, dating back to the 1976 Vogelsong, his first!!)

Jammy high notes over a solid foundation of dark fruit and licorice. Opened for 1 hour before drinking at 67 degrees.

Feb 24th, 2023Full of flavor and easy to drink, a bit of spice and hints of leather, dark cherry, and tobacco. Paired wonderfully with duck breast.
