Jammy and well rounded. Great wine by itself or with a hearty & flavorful meal. 2013 vintage

A little better than the previous bottle I had. Still not my favorite style, but serviceable in its price point.

Deep ruby in color with a ruby rim.
Light nose of blackberries, figs, smoke, acetone, licorice and vanilla. Not very inviting.

Big and full bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry and tart on the palate with blackberries, red currants, plums, cherries, chocolates, smoke, licorice, oak, vanilla and black pepper.

Long finish with medium tannins and tart cherries.

A nice Zinfandel from California. The wine maker is Joe Wagner (Caymus).
Enjoyable by itself, but better with food. A bit tart for my taste, but it does have an interesting kick to it.
I Didn't like the nose, but the palate was enjoyable. I would give it some more bottle time to balance itself out.

Aged for 12 months in American and French Oak barrels.

15.1% alcohol by volume.

Pretty good, not normally a fan of red wines, but I liked this one. Fruity and spicy, good with Mexican food

Pretty delicious with lots of chocolate and some licorice too. For $54 at a NYC restaurant I’d say pretty good.
