Berton Vineyards
Metal Petite Sirah
A young Petite Sirah from Australia.
Showing black fruits with earth, chocolates, tobacco, vegetables, oak, bitter herbs, vanilla and peppercorn.
Full bodied and bold with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel.
Short tangy finish with grippy tannins.
Very harsh after an hour of airtime with hugh grippy tannins. A little bitter on the ending at this point. Time will make it better 😊
Needs a couple of years in the bottle to mature, but Very drinkable and better with food.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
84 points.

It’s been 34 weeks since my last petite sirah!!! Why!?!? This is intense, high in tannins and sweet with blackberry! I almost thought about breaking into the 9’s with this if it wasn’t for the tart finish. I do believe if it aged a bit longer it would be well into the 9’s. I will definitely revisit this wine in the future.
