Bevan Cellars
Rita's Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir
Victoria from Bevan Cellars came to town and put on a wonderful tasting of some current releases.
Really enjoyed trying this next to the Petaluma Gap. I think I surprised myself in that I ended up liking the Rita’s just a tiny bit more. More spicy red fruit and the acidity seemed sharper. Very black cherry dominant. Main difference I got in the two was this seemed to have a more maple/sandalwood note compared to the more cedar with Petaluma.

Every now and again I crave a hedonistic Pinot, and winemaker Russell Bevan‘s M.O. is BIG in every category. All knobs are turned up.

Aug 16th, 2020I have to go - sorry 😐 with the not my style option. Over- extracted jammy blackberry but quite a bit of acid so there is a balance here. Tastes almost like an Amarone. A good wine just not my thing. Sweet.
