Blason de Bourgogne
Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay

Light golden in color.
Fruity nose of lemons, citrus, green vegetables, herbs, green apples and white pepper.
Medium bodied, crisp and refreshing, with bright acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with over ripen citrus fruits, lemons, green apples grapefruits and spices.
Medium finish with limes.
This white burgundy is crisp and refreshing with bright acidity, however simple. Nicely balanced and drinkable by itself or with food.
I paired it with Manchego cheese by the pool. Needs to be very cold when served.
Feels like a white burgundy for the "American" palate. Very approachable. Might have been better last year, though.
12.5% alcohol by volume.

Blason de Bourgogne – Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay 2015
Mâconnais, Burgundy, France 🇫🇷
Overview
Mâcon-Villages is often considered the “gateway” to Burgundy whites, made for freshness and early drinking. What makes this bottle remarkable is its survival—cellared for a decade, it defies expectations for such an entry-level Chardonnay. Proof that even modest Bourgogne whites can occasionally surprise.
Aromas & Flavors
Candied baked pear, hints of honey, and touches of bruised apple. Some oxidative tones, but still carrying a thread of orchard fruit brightness.
Mouthfeel
Rounded and softened with age, medium-bodied, and gently waxy. Less about crispness now, more about mellow textures and faded fruit.
Food Pairing
Best suited for soft cheeses (Brie, Délice de Bourgogne), roasted chicken, or simply enjoyed contemplatively on its own for its curiosity factor.
Verdict
Not the most refined or expressive, but undeniably fascinating—especially given it was crafted for youthful freshness. A gentle reminder that Chardonnay, even from humble origins, can age with surprising grace.
🍷 Personal Pick Highlight: Zero expectations, but cellaring proved me wrong—this modest Macon-Villages still showed character after 10 years. Cheers!

Boutinot Domaine Des Terreaux Borgogne Chardonnay. 2015. Love it. Could not find it in app. Warm and creamy.

Nov 9th, 2019Nice soft cork. Recommended as favorite by a Trader Joe's worker. It is nice, mild, and bright. Not my favorite buttery style though but nice.

Are you a baller on budget? This white Burgundy for 7 bones at TJs is for you. Nice acid but definitely some malo at work. Someone else said a white Burgundy for the American pallet and I think that's spot on. Nothing complex but nice. Cheers.

My hunt for a cheap Burgundian chardonnay has ended with this wine. For only about $7 at TJ's, this is a bargain! Crisp green apple and under ripe pear dominate this high acid wine. It's uncomplicated with no oak but has a hint of crushed stone for some minerality. Drink alone, perhaps as an apéritifs. Also a lovely wine to pair with oysters, chilled shrimp, hard cheese or creamy brie.
