2001. Popped and poured. Slightly transparent ruby. Mocha, espresso, black licorice, black cherry, and buttered toast. Entry is smooth and balanced. Perfectly balanced tannins/acid, however, I'm not finding the full body others have described. More medium bodied and with more fruit showing on the mid palate, along with tobacco. just another example of how outstanding this vintage is. I'd love to drink wine this good every day. Stoked I've got one more bottle. Drink now! 93

Could pass for Boudreaux. 16 years in healthy although the palate fades. Very good value.

Medium plus garnet. Stewed bell pepper, cranberry, cigar box, burned matches, orange leaves, chocolate, coffee grind. Medium acidity, medium sugar, medium alcohol. Guessed it to be a Bordeaux.

Delucious Spanish gem of a wind from Ribera Del Duero. Heavy notes of Tobacco and lovely hints of ripe black fruit. Excellent with cheese and smokey meats.

An outstanding wine, drinks well now but won't hold up much longer. Restrained baked red fruit, mild herbs, wet stone. Medium to long finish.

This bottle was not nearly as good as the prior 2001 that we opened. Took a while to open up.

Once in awhile WTSO comes through. This guy shows his age, but in a distinguished way. There is some sweet oak, but I find it well integrated and, overall, very enjoyable.
