This is a fine #zinfandel with loads of bramble berry and a hint of smoke. My second taste reveals a bit forward acidity and it could be more complex. This was a stand-alone tasting without barbecue so it might be best paired that way.

Like eating a pint of blackberries as I eat my applewood smoked brisket; wonderful all around. Slight sweetness handles the smoke well and the spicy rub is balanced by the richness of the zin
