A well-made Valpo is one of life’s simple pleasures. This one certainly is. Light, great fruit, nice acids. Perfect for chicken roll-ups with prosciutto and Swiss cheese braised in white wine.

The 2020 Valpolicella Classico is a super-fresh, floral and peppery expression, with wild strawberries and crushed stone filling its bouquet. This is purity personified with vivid strawberry and cherry-berry fruits, hints of spice and minerals. It’s simply a pleasure, so finessed and lively, and leaves a saline tinge and the palate completely refreshed. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

Not as expressive as the ‘19 or’18 but still goes down way too fast. Light and tasty.

Perfect on a hot, humid night. Loads of crunchy cherry fruit. Clear and transparent. Fresh acidity. Soft, with virtually no tannin. So refreshing.

Pretty pale garnet ruby. Slightly spicy red fruits on the nose , strawberry , raspberry touch of herbaceous character also. In the palate , more of the same , plus some dried herbal notes , pretty light bodied though refreshing acidity and ok length. Quite simple though enjoyable enough on its own or with simple food . Drink now and until the next vintage is released .

Opens on the nose with the smell of lees, underneath are early summer red 🍒 and a touch of balsamic and a touch of wood- maybe slovanian oak?
Tart, nice balance, refreshing and very drinkable. I was nervous to order it because it was listed under the 'Natural' wine selection but turns out that it's only organic and not bottle of kombucha. Excited to see that I might be able to find this for under $25.
Paid $54 at Commune in Columbus.
