On a blind tasting I might have pegged it for Barbaresco for it's cherry, dates, firm acidity, and wisp of rose on the nose and finish. Well integrated oak with extra toast. (18 mths in barriques ). But this is not Nebbiolo but a marvelous Nerello Mascalese with some minerality evoking the volcanic soil from where it sprang to life. Soft tannins too.
