This was a transcendent bottle of Rosso. I liked it better than Fonterenza Brunello 2005, and about as much as my other all-time favorite Rosso: 2008 Poggio di Sotto. Big surprise, as I'm not usually such a fan of 2009 in Tuscany.

The fruit popped more a few years ago but a lot easier to drink now as all of the material has integrated. For a few moments during the 2 hours of drinking this gem, the pine forest floor loomed large. Just sublime. The 2006 was the fruit cake special. One left in the cellar.
