Nose: first impressions is the cheap wine cherry smell…but then it gets better and there is more: coffee bean, mild toffee. Muted forest. Promising for a cheap wine! Taste: dark cherry again, bitter cocoa, definite alcohol. Nice acidity. Simple, a little lightweight. Pretty good. 87-88.

The one with the yellow label. Good robust looking color. Smells fruit driven. Hint of mineral oil. Flavors are lovely and wine-y. Tart and juicy. Fresh and like-able. This is exactly how it should be. Especially for a fair price. Just good Rioja.
