Another Italian wine to try! Yes indeed. This was purchased from WTSO. I payed about 25 dollars for this 2009 sangiovese grosso. The cork was very well preserved. The color was SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!!!! Ruby red with hints of brown. After reading the description on the back of the bottle it was described to be ruby red with tones of orange. This eased my mind. I thought it was spoiled! Nevertheless, the bouquet after decanting for 30 minutes is terrible. It reminds me of sauerkraut and red onions! Yuck!!!!! The initial palate is green apple and boysenberry. Thank goodness it does not taste like it smells. The finish is dry and reminds me of figs and earth. There is also a leather like quality. No bad after taste though. Not as bad as I thought. Very Very Dry! After two glasses it will taste fantastic!
