These have softened just a little after a year in the cellar. Now very fruit forward and peppery with drying tannins. Drinks well with a short decant but these will last (and likely improve) several more years in the cellar

Drinking much better than a year ago. The best Sonoma County bottling from Carlisle that I have come across. Tough to beat for the price.

Violet color with black and red fruit, smoke, leather, spice and a bit of violet aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied and fruit forward with a lush texture but its acidity and dusty tannins keep it on the rails. It shows black raspberry, black cherry, baking spice with hints of peppery spice with a long sweet finish. Blend of fruit from throughout Sonoma sourced form vineyards planted between 1895 and 1934 (except for the 2% Petite Sirah) 15% abv 672 cases. $25 SRP. Great QPR!

My third 2013 Carlisle Zin and this is the first that's starting to shed its excess alcohol and wood.

I want to like this wine because I recently bought a case of Carlisle with 8 zins in it. Alas, all I'm getting is fleeting, overly sweet fruit. I guess I'll have to give these bottles lots more time. Ugh.

Too much alcohol for me; it dominates both the nose and taste.
