Sep 23rd, 2016One of Chile's finest premier wines. Dark and deep inky purple red. A blend of 57% Carmenère, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot and aged in 100% new French oak, the wine displays aromas of ripe concentrated red fruit with sweet spice. The palate has flavors of plum, raspberry and cherry and notes of figs, vanilla and mocha. Complex structure with round velvet tannins that are long lasting on the finish and ending with some espresso notes. Tasting Sample.

Jun 9th, 2015Using Coravin here on this one. Today 25.7 first glass. Sweet red fruit nose.
In the mouth sweets and some green bitters. Making this perfect for some nice Chicory salad with chicken even. 28.8 second glass, still beautiful and perhaps even more then right after opening. Sweet umami taste. Rating up to 9.5.

Incredible sexy nose. Fresh, ripe and candied red and black fruit gushes out your glass. Sipping it makes you taste all fruits in different layers. Paired with a nice acidity and gripping tannins. This wine is in a perfect place right now.

Dec 20th, 2020Another cracker from Chile. Concentrated dark fruit with tobacco and dark chocolate on the nose. Still a young wine and will certainly develop in the coming years. More European Bordeaux style but with a new world ‘heaviness’. Tannins are evident but not overpowering and the more restrained carmenere grape releases great flavour but without the punch of a Cabernet dominated blend. I still prefer almaviva but this is a great wine and I really enjoyed it.
