Smells like berries and herbs...blind I would have said 100% pinot noir. Taste...so well balanced and refined. Meat notes, roasting spit fire and more berries...redcurrants and cranberries. Was absolutely nothing like I was expecting. I think there is a persisting opinion here in europe that american wines are big and brash flavour bombs but this is nothing like that...refined and elegant. Cut through and paired excellently with roast duck legs!
