Monthly WTF wine group night. Our theme was American oak vs French oak. All wines tasted blind. We started off with two bottles of bubbly and finished with two non-themed reds.
First note that hit me was Lemon and vanilla wafer. Beautiful added notes of lemon cream, honeysuckle and chalk aromatics with grilled lemon and pasty on the palate. Slightly oxidative but not as much as I expected. Faint bubbles. Young! Thanks @Mark Flesher

Butter popcorn, toast, bread, lemon, vanilla, spices. Excellent balance, very rich and slightly oxidative.
