Ripe red fruit nose of raspberry, cranberry, and tart cherry with classic cab frank green bell pepper notes. Grippy tart red fruit on the palate with cinnamon and cedar. Medium alcohol, medium tannins, and high acid, with the bell pepper lingering in the finish. Tart and rustic, bring on the croque monsieur.

First, this absolutely requires a 1.5+ hour decant to get beyond the very tart berries and graphite flavors. Also this wine needs food...something with a little fat. THEN, the bell pepper notes come out and the tartness mellows a bit. At that point, this wine becomes a high 8. If you don’t have time for that, I would pass on this one. Also, instructions on the bottle would be helpful.

Dark cherry, graphite, light bell pepper. An especially fruity Chinon, like Beauj that went to graduate school

A subtle pleasure. Vegetal, floral light plus body and silky. Sour cherries and cocoa. Light tannins with long linear finish. Took awhile to open up. From Kermit Lynch.

A little disappointing for a cab franc with a very light body. Surprising tart and tang.
