If you want to taste lean and classic Pinot Noir, this is a perfect example. The color is extremely light, a good counterexample to the ripe 2010 vintage. The nose is black cherry with slightly rustic notes of gunflint and smoke that I find charming and which Pinot is capable of giving provided that is is not picked too ripe. The palate is straightforward cherry with high acid. This is a lean and taut wine in the Burgundian model, light, but unmistakably and classically Pinot Noir. Given its low price, an excellent value.

Too much earth, not enough fruit for me. Funk on the nose, tasted like a dirty mushroom served on a slab of stone. Shannon liked it, though.

Classic, earthy Oregon Pinot... Minerals and a little less smooth than some of the more expensive Oregon Pinot noirs, not for this price... Great value!!!!!
