Wow! Offering up notes of melted caramel, sweet mocha, blackberry and black cherry fruit, with hints of loamy soil and unsmoked cigar tobacco as well as a touch of white chocolate and some subtle toasty oak. Round, opulent and unctuously textured, with a full-bodied mouthfeel, fabulous purity, and no hard edges, this sumptuous, fleshy, lavishly rich.

Sensational, cherry fruits with a complex aroma of chocolate balanced coffee note worthy to accommodate a meaty lunch.

I have a history with this wine as it was an early love for me circa 1999 off a wine list at Aureole (the original Aureole). In haven’t had it in almost as many years and so a I grabbed a few bottles of 09. I don’t drink a lot of Bordeaux anymore but this seems to display more earth and less fruity to me than I expected. Bold alcohol content. Still showing some sharp edges. I like this wine but my 25 year old self had a very different palate.

Pom 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣🎉 My first love & one of the best from 09 👍 & @ £160 this is a treat to drink now but superb in 5-10yrs 😍

🍇 80% Mer & 20% Cab F

🍷 Opaque ruby

👃Bonfire embers & smashed wet rock through elegant dark plum & sweet blackberry w/ light smoked oak, dark cherry & mocha

👄 Med+ body of creamy silky mineral infused dark plum, cherry & blackberry w/ mocha & blackcurrant oozing through

🎯 Med+ dark fruit & mocha boom w/ slight sweet & dryness that will ease in time

🍽 Moussaka perfectly 😋
