Morgon Gamay

Everything I dislike about the 2015 Beaujolais vintage dialled up to 11. No acid. Baked, raisin-y fruit. Flabby. 14.5% alcohol. I mean, thankfully no new oak - otherwise you'd think this was an anonymous Paso red blend. It's not a terrible wine. It's just not Beaujolais at all.

Big and jammy. Not subtle. Acid saves the day. Like a dessert gamay, if that's possible.

Gotta say this vintage is just too ripe no finesse

Finishing off this bottle of Château Des Jacques from our Burgundy vs Bordeaux wine tasting we did last night.

deep ruby ​​color. round and gourmet mouth. licorice, blackfruits, stonefruits, cherry note, deep/delicate finish, need to get some fresh air.
