Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend

Iodine for days. The Islay from Haut Medoc.

Very good, budget-minded Bordeaux. Perfect w grilled filet. Even stood up to a vinegar chimichurri.
Feels more of Cabernet family than merlot, with slightly leafy dark fruit and a hint of herbal undertone. Drinking great now at age 9.

Oh hell, I had a shitty Bordeaux earlier tonight which made me embarrassed for being being someone who says "Bordeaux can be exceptional....when it is". But I felt good about this guy. Very good!

Solid, good value, nonspoofy Bordeaux. Nose of dry underbrush, dark minerality, cassis. Deeply flavored, if a bit simple. Drinking at what I think is its peak right now.

Lean, old world, and kind of meh.

Just right, not too fruity, well balanced, moderate acidity and tannins. Full bodied, easily drinkable.

Strained and decanted. Solid tannins with mild acidity. Hints of spice with ripe berry.

Incredibly savory.
