Smoky tobacco, pencil shavings, mushroom, blackberry and dark cherry liqueur. Great after at least an hour decant.

Generous and comforting. Black cherries and purple plums, highlighted by dark and savoury accents of damp earth, warm chestnuts, camphor, grilled vegetables, vanillapods and truffle.
Terrific wine, quite powerful and masculine; chewy yet ripe tannines are well integrated; this is drinking great now!

Bu chez Delphine.
C'est une bonne bouteille mais un peu déçu par rapport à la réputation. Ça manque de gourmandise et de flamboyant en bouche

45+ minute decant. Dark red color. Nose filled with cedar, French oak, and some menthol. Palate had tar, smoke, and dark cherry all over it. Classic Bordeaux in my mind. Drinking excellent right now! Glad I have the ‘01, ‘02, and ‘03 back in the US! Long finish. Great find at the price I got. Goes to show that all vintages aren’t uniform.
