Color density spectacularly singular, nose of dried blackberry, black currant, wet river pebbles, rosemary dusting on beef, lavender, violet and rose stitched together seamlessly, a minute persimmon, plum and cinnamon sail on in the wind of cumin.
Warm plumminess opens to baked currant and date, wedged into oak crevices. Bite of tobacco, eucalyptus, offset by black olive texture, bituminous sensibility and cinnamon-cedar parameters.

Last night I opened this Fifth Growth Bordeaux from Pauillac. The 2010 Chateau Haute-Batailley.

Upon opening, the beautifully expressive aromas of this wine hit you right in the pleasure pocket. The dark fruits of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black plum with notes of sweet licorice, cocoa powder and rose petals.

The nose is confirmed with the dark fruits of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, there is a black tea leaf component which is nice, cassis, and a prominent smokey oak.

This is a full bodied wine with medium + acidity and a medium + fine tannins with a wonderful drying feel that leads to a long lasting enjoyable finish. I believe this wine has another 10 - 15 years but I enjoy it now.

Have a safe and relaxing weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Still has a lot left in the tank. After an hour it’s still opening up. Plum, blackberry, blueberry, black licorice, bittersweet cocoa powder, candied almond, kirsch. Silk jacket, refined tannins, an aorta of acidity giving life to the rest of the wine. Delicious burger wine, maybe the peak of the category. Wish I kept it til 2027.

Quite good aroma including coffee and chocolate. Black currant. Elegant. Mid+ body. Good balance among spiciness, acidity and tanning. Mushroom. It is better to wait it for more than 2 hours. @8100, AD wine - JH, 200103-200124

2010. Great depth and purity. Tight and close when opened. On day 2 and 3 it becomes more transparent. Dark berries, classic currants, orange zest, waxy and honey edge, very vanilla perfect ball-shaped ice cream. Bright fruit, round, dense but elegant. Nice bitterish berry skin on finish.
