Château Lafon-Rochet
Saint-Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
St. Estèphe, Médoc, Bordeaux, France
Still a baby. Tasted alongside the 2009 Rafanelli Cab and while both were killer, the Rafanelli seems to have the edge right now. This was still pretty wound up and seemed to have more to show down the road. Cassis, pencil shavings, earth. Tannic. Drink now with some patience or a decant. Will be best after 2025.

This will benefit from a few more years in the cellar, opens up beautifully in the glass!!

Aug 19th, 20142010. 9.0-9.1. Good for older Bordeaux fix, but lacks fruit to be great. Glycerin, minerals, some pencil lead come through at expense of muted blue and black fruits and moderate, integrated tannins. Little/no acid or tartness to round it all out. Certainly interesting but unlikely to gain what it needs over time. $74 at Liquor Outlet.

Apr 3rd, 2019May 16, 2018. Bordeaux. At the Chateau. Most awesome. 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot. Black fruit, smooth tannins. Ohlala. Best wine of the day, and what a fabulous day it was in the Medoc.

En bouche du fruit rouge mur de la griotte ...
Un final persistant très parfumé
Mériterait à mon avis 1 ou 2 ans de garde supplémentaire
