Oct 8th, 2013A bold nose of tart cherry, leather and a slight undercurrent of cooked vegetables and black cherry. The body was surprisingly lighter than I expected, with lightly ashy tannins that have been dulled with age, with a lingering tart cherry acidity that sits comfortably in the middle of your tongue and notes of ash, slate, sausage-y meats, coffee, and slight balsamic and vanilla.

Jan 6th, 2022Amazing on the nose. Really interesting but then kind of waiting game to see if it opens up. Nose A+. I’m missing this nose in burgs

Jul 22nd, 2018Nice earth, graphite, and dust mingle with some nice plum and dark currant. It has nice balance and a really nice finish.

Dec 20th, 2015Nice spice on the nose that mellows towards vanilla then sort of bursts in one's mouth with first blush blue and black berry flavors followed by a slight tannin grab and acid mix that oozes down one's throat making you wish that it could cling a little longer (a bit short on the finish, but smooth all the same . The decanting benefits are quick and noticeable - so do that. This wine is smooth and ready to drink, now (2004). I really dig this stuff, now! Salute!
PS at Tampa's Haven - go!
