Nimble and light on its feet- well balanced and lively. Ripe mission fig, black currant, cedar, sandlewood, pipe tobacco, black tea and graphite. Very enjoyable.

Violet, vanilla, black currant and very cab franc like. Dry, dark fruit, tar and silky but bracing tannins. Vanilla and pencil lead notes, fruit developed in glass.

I love Chateau Lynch-Bages, and this is a very good - but not a great - one. Inky dark purple. Intense bouquet. Full mouth feel. Cassis, tobacco, leather, mushrooms, licorice, blackberries, and cedar. Strong tannins and a satisfying finish.

Always love Lynch Bages but this one is just not quite at the level I expect. Certainly quite classic, but after a 2+ hour decant just isn’t giving the depth of fruit and earth and structure that I’d expect. Still obviously a nice wine and great with a prime dry aged strip on the grill but was hoping for just a bit more.
