Matton-Farnets have been in the wine industry for almost 3 centuries, beginning at the Domaine de Chateauneuf in Vidauban, and continuing at Chateau Minuty from 1936. Light color, reminiscent of an Oregon Pinot. Unusual big aromas of berry fruit and citrus. Soft, fresh acidity ending with fruit notes. If you are a Rosé fan this is one to get. Little pricier than most but worth it. Tasting Sample.

May 27th, 2018Quite good. Floral notes, but pear dominates, or perhaps I say something a bit more pretentious like “pear skin”.... Will definitely buy again and perhaps try the next level up from the same vintner, although it’s price point is slightly higher than my range for roses.
