Château Miraval
Côtes de Provence Rosé Blend
Paying for the name. But it was hot in Carmel Valley and Safeway was the only option.

Sep 9th, 2020The 2019 Miraval Rose is sourced from their 500 hectare vineyard that is set in valley in the ancient village of Correns in the center of Provence. A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, and Rolle, the vineyard is set on limestone and clay soils. A light dusting of salted damp earth combines with pretty rose water and melon tones on the nose. The palate is fresh and wonderfully textured, showing layers of bright melon and red fruit flavors with a great veil of tension. Fantastic now, this beautiful effort will cellar well over the next seven plus years. Drink 2020-2027- 91

Even with some wind & fog, our beach day was still filled with laughter & smiles as this rosé made the day extra bright & sunny! Have a great week. Cheers🍷

Aug 9th, 2020Nice, with a tart strawberry character but a bit thin and not enough depth or minerality. Good but not great for a Provençal rosé.

Jun 16th, 2020You already know what’s up. You know what it is and exactly what to expect. A soft translucent blush color in the glass with a very aromatic nose. Fresh strawberries and apricots combine with dried herbs and minerality. It’s easy to disdain porch pounders but it’s hard to when it’s actually good. Easy drinking but with some heft and depth to it, there is a lot more substance here than most supermarket Rosés. Nice acidity and balance, it’s just the right amount of dry for what it wants to be. The palate follows the nose closely, with more red and citrus fruits, green apples, and watermelon.
