Part of a Chateau Mouton Rothschild vertical from 1988-1990. The 1988 shows great color and is quite charming with notes of cassis, tobacco, leather some bell pepper and a cinnamon bark sort of thing on the nose. Structure remains firm and this was a little greener than the ‘89 and ‘90. There is no risk of this falling off anytime soon; probably good through 2038.

Very strong showing and actually really surprising for this vintage. Thank you so much @Shawn R. A very deep ruby core, noticeable chewy tannins, truffle, iron and cassis. Less sweet fruit than the ‘86 but more powerful.

As the Bordeaux theme continues...not much fanfare as the 86 but still very impressive. Decanted four hours and drank over the next 4+. Slight bricking on the edges. Has this cranberry element and menthol on the nose leans more red fruit. Tobacco, herbs and mint. More flat across the palate yet very enjoyable. Finish has verve yet not long showing perfect balance of acid. Tannins are still there and not sure time finds away to soften them.

Poured from a magnum. Plum, fig, earth. Mouthwateringly long on the finish.

Beautiful mesmerizing nose of forest floor, cigar and dark fruit. Equally beautiful on the palate as well. #primetimewinetime #右上の会
