Deep mysterious nose; old cigar tobacco, spice bazaar. So clear and pure on the palate, red fruit, tamarind, a touch of va, just so much complexity and vitality. Salty, briney, kalamata olive juice on finish. Totally resolved tannins… really so different than any other Cab I’ve tried. Mythic elixir.

Dec 3rd, 2021Yep, this was special. Took some extracting though - the cork disintegrated upon any attempt at unscrewing, so initially thought the wine was a goner. But, thankfully, after two hours strained into a decanter, the wine came to life. Initially very barnyard-y on the nose, but this fell away to reveal a tawny, delicate wine underneath. Superb.

Jan 5th, 2019In spite of an iffy cork that had me initially very worried, this came to life very nicely with 2 hours of decanting. Funnily this confused every blind taster around the table, the only they could agree on was that they loved it!

May 15th, 2021Cork fell apart into little pieces trying to open it, and the initial whiff was a very unpleasant barnyard. I was skeptical, but the wine soon became a gem. Ticks off the BLIC with ease. Would give it higher than 9.4 but the Brett was a little bit of a distraction.

Jun 27th, 2019D5. Tastes like 87 Napa. Entry of aged blackberry and pepper. A little earthy middle. Some shoe leather and dates. Hint of raisin on the finish. Soft tannin and even a little acidic. This bottle is ready to consume! First Musar for me and hopefully won't be my last.
