Dec 17th, 2019I've had terrific wines from Poujeaux in the past; excellent value. This one shows Syrah-like notes on the nose, meaty, sweet fruit, black pepper. Not typical but has some charm. On the palate however the tannins are tough and chunky, fruit is compact and mid-palate is a but hollow. Seems a bit over-extracted.

Nov 22nd, 2015Black currant, tar, pencil lead, cedar... A very fragrant a'f concentrated nose. The palate is well balanced with a strong acid backbone, a nice fruit with a pleasant tanguiness, a nice silky, sweet touch on the sides, rolling tannins with a grain and a long finish with a touch of wood, a pinch of salt, a touch of bitterness and black fruits. This is very good

Mar 21st, 2020Nose of black currant, meat, bread (?), a bit warm. Very nice and profound nonetheless. The palate is wide and intense with a strong acid backbone and a huge width with black currant and a silky touch on the sides. Playful tannins in the rear kick a long finish up that introduces meat juice, black currant and a salty/bitter touch which makes this a very gracious, noble ending. Very good
