@Dave ‘s recent experience with a cheap Saint-Emilion prompted me to pop one tonight. Had one of these about 9 months ago. I think this bottle’s a little better. Or maybe I’m not as critical tonight. Regardless, it’s damn nice. Loads of pure, bright, ripe berry fruit in the nose, with a little clay-like earthiness. So soft in the mouth. Just delicious. Loads of fruit up front and a nice cling of savory flavors in the fairly long finish. Great balance and texture, nicely concentrated.

Aug 6th, 2026Popped and did a quick double decant to separate the sediment. Nose gradually opening to show beautifully pure dark cherry fruit, cedar notes, and wet clay earthiness. In the mouth it’s got good flavor intensity, and the texture is fairly soft and friendly for a ‘19 right-banker, which I’ve generally found to be a little burly so far in their youth. Could benefit from a few more years but definitely enjoyable now. Finish is maybe a little clipped, but still a great value.
