Surprised I've never rated this because I buy it often. I like it as it's cheap for cooking, and a bunch of it happily finds its way into my belly. This bottle has a bit of gasoline on the nose, but it is crisp and clean. Using it for shrimp pasta. A little for the shrimp, a little for me.

@Dave, maybe the gasoline on the nose is to make it seem like a much more expensive wine, given the price of gasoline? German Rieslings even more so since diesel is even more pricey?

A fine addition to the heat on this Friday. Many butter comments in other reviews, but buttery this vintage is not. Pineapple, lemon, and minerality, though it's not biting. A round, soft mouthfeel that's easy on the acid.

I need to disregard my last bottle as flawed. This is amazing. It could easily pass as an aged, quality Côte-Rôtie. The Syrah sings with smoked meat over plums and berries. So good.

I had this 8 months ago, and I think it deserves better than my first rating. Aggressive up front. It is pretty dark as far as fruit goes. A little green stuff (twigs and leaves), and leathery tannins. There is no metallic taste like in my previous note.

An inexpensive Loire SB. Flinty and sharp, florals on the nose, pear and citrus flavors. Almond skins. Paired well with shrimp tacos.

Braving the heat to fire up the grill. This will go nicely with some prime steaks. Leathery, but juicy and yummy.

Steaks look great!! We’ve been having this unseasonably cooler weather here in NorCal, around 80 as highs, 55 for lows. I’m sure it’ll get miserable again soon! 🤷

This is a secret weapon for parties. Consistently good and punches way above its weight class. The nose is saline (sweat) and grassy. Flavors of lemon, grapefruit, peach. Lower acidity, which makes it a party favor. My friends say, "This isn't too dry..." On sale for $10, but i would splurge and pay $12 😛

I had a glass of this Friday night and thought it was spectacular. Now, by that point I had plenty of other wine in my system. Last night I tried it again and it wasn't spectacular, though, it's fine. Not complex, but very tannic.

@Dave I know that experience. I'm good for a couple glasses then if I want more, I pour something way less. Taste buds thing I guess. And, it has changed drastically getting older! 🙄

This is actually Mendocino County, not Russian River Valley.
As a child I was enamored with talking animals. Frog and Toad, Wind in the Willows, Narnia. So I needed to have this. Charming little toad and an ok PN. Fruity and quaffable. When i tried their Chardonnay I thought someone told me this maker has a celebrity connection. Maybe Robin Williams?

This is just Gordo Monastrell (no Cabernet).
Initial punch of dark fruit with bacon fat hiding beneath. Good, but a bit heavy in 90 degrees. Trying to score it fairly.
