Chateau Ste. Michelle & Dr. Loosen
Eroica Gold Riesling
Eroica is the collaboration of Washington's largest riesling producer, Chateau Ste. Michelle and Mosel's Weingut Dr. Loosen. 2012 was the first vintage of Gold, which is done in an Auslese style and sourced from two Washington vineyards, Viewcrest and CSM's Horse Heaven. It's a lip-smacking, off-dry explosion of orange marmalade, grilled pineapple, Anjou pear, and lime zest, with a healthy dose of botrytis and ample acidity.

Sep 7th, 2017Straw gold in the glass. Petrol and underripe pome on the nose. Medium full body; medium plus acidity. Ashy petrol and white peach on the palate. RS adds weight more than sweetness, which is subdued thanks to acidity. Medium dark-ish finish. Good food wine.
