Unfolds slowly at first with strawberry and dried rose petals, then reveals more with air, developing leathery undertones but also bigger bolder darker fruit and sweet spice notes. The tannins are refined and the acidity is perfectly in balance. Just spectacular.

Very tasty once it opens up past the initial prune flavors. Later... anise, leather, mushroom, black cherry richness. May have preferred this one younger with more brightness.

On the nose it’s like smelling a fistful of rich, moist clay; loads of damp earth, moist moss, cowhide leather, sweet tobacco, clove, and cherries. On the palate silky and smooth with nice acidity to make such a rustic expression seem youthful. Thankful I have others stashed away.
