Cloudy Bay
Marlborough Chardonnay
Pale lemon with aromas of stone fruits with wafts of blossom, spice & smoke. On the palate rich ripe apple and pear with a touch of zesty citrus fruits, crisp, with vanilla notes. Nice creamy mouthfeel, vivid acidity, medium+ finish ending with citrus mineral and floral spice character.

Feb 27th, 2021Thick but not too oaked. Lots of hints of Cream butter. High in citrus and ripe apples. A nose to keep sniffing.

Dec 26th, 2018Consistently good chardonnay. Crisper, more fruity and refreshing than many, not huge on butter or oak. Enjoyed with tongue tacos!

Nov 17th, 2015Light straw colour with a certain energy to it. Lightly smoky bouquet with little hints of peach and tropical fruit. A ripe (but not overly so) palate which is quite mouth filling, with oak and lemon citrus along with some apricot. Almost along the lines of a Montrachet, especially once it has had a little time to breathe (clearly nothing to do with the 14% alcohol!). Not a "wow" drink but I was nevertheless pleasantly surprised given the CB brand has often in recent years rested on its laurels a little too much.
