Rather austere, dry tannins and hollow mid palate, this wine brought no joy to the party. I would have expected something perhaps a bit more opulent that what I experienced. I found this wine lifeless.

Ripe dark fruits, cassis, licorice, smoke, eucalyptus, creamy vanilla on the nose. Silky texture with ripe cherries, blackberries, dark chocolate, roasted meats, sweet spices, with lively tannins on the long finish. Discreet, elegant, more top tier Napa in character than Chile.

Beautiful wine. Bordeaux like qualities. Earthiness, tobacco, some dark fruit. At 19 years old it is still showing excellent structure. Nice acidity, smooth tannins. well balanced, and nuanced. Really wish I had more. Drink now because I don’t see age doing much more.

Yes, a mega-producer, but savage, meaty, and very natural. Great with a slab of beef, with herbal qualities and alcohol (13.5) in check.
