Don Melchor Puente Alto Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

My first exposure to Don Melchor was rewarding! Rich, dark fruit maturity on the nose was consistent with long lasting dark cherries and red plum on the palette. Soft tannins reminiscent of a well aged Cabernet, the softness of this young cab was surprising and delightful! An absolute treat to taste!! — a month ago

Marqués de Casa Concha Etiqueta Negra Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2017

Iron and dark fruits on the nose. Coffee and dark chocolate flavors with a discrete sour finish. A little bit awkward. It needs 1 year to achieve a nice balance. — 5 years ago

Bold and rich. Blueberry, blackberry and plum. Herbaceous and bell pepper at first. A touch of spices. Dry, mid acidity and sweet thick tannin. round and rich body but only ABV 13%. Can drink now and also can age more. — 5 years ago

Delanz Alto Jahuel Maipo Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2020

A pure expression of a top wine region in Chile. Delanz is mainly sourced from “Alto Jahuel” vineyard, situated at the foothill of the Andes Mountains by the southern bank of the “Maipo” River, where a prime terroir for Cabs is all about. The blend composition is mostly dominated by 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot, and 3% Petite Syrah. This Bordeaux-inspired wine brings an intense, perfumy and uplifting classic aromas of violets, mulberries and raspberries and some are also sensed on the palate. Definitely, It has a multi-layered mouthfeel, tannins are firm but balanced, and has some texture on the finish as well. Another premium signature of the famously female winemaker Emily Faulconer from first chilean winery since 1850. — a day ago

Viñedo Chadwick Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2016

Delectable Wine
9.5

A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot from Maipo Alto that spent 22 months in French barrels, 80% new and 10% in casks. This was a cold year, making for the ideal ripeness. The delicate, seductive nose combines raspberry with young blackcurrant, herb and mint. Well-balanced, it presents a smooth texture and a powerful flavor juicy on the tongue with just a hint of pyrazine that underlines the smoky finish. A serious wine. Marqués de Casa Concha Heritage Puente Alto Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

A splendid new wine from Marques de Concha Casa - 92% Cab Sauvignon, 6% Cab Franc, 1% Merlot, 1% Petite Verdot. Ripe aromas of vanilla (25 months in French oak, 71% new), loads of blackberry, violet, black cherry, tobacco leaf, forest floor, fennel and sage. Ripe, silky tannins give the wines an opulent, creamy mouthfeel. Medium finish. Very nice wine, probably best in the near to mid-term. — 2 years ago
